Supplemental Exam

Friday 21st July, 14:30-15:30 in the SEEK room

The supplemental exam will not specifically test for anything from the textbook. Instead, it focuses on testing your reading and writing skills. Here are some of the topics you should revise:

History of Computers

The Babbage Difference Engine
Right at the start of the year, we looked at technology and computers. For one of the questions, you have to match the computer/program/feature with the correct description. You can review this by looking at the presentation on the history of computers here.

4th July/Independence Day

You will have to answer some multiple choice questions about Independence Day. To review some of the history of Independence Day, you can look at the presentation here and check your knowledge on the quiz here.

Frankenstein

You don't have the book yet, so don't worry! In the exam, you will read short parts of chapter 1 of the Frankenstein reader, which will be in the exam paper. You will answer questions to show that you've understood the grammar and information that you've read. You will also match parts of a sentence to talk about Mary Shelley and the writing of Frankenstein.

If you'd like to look at the presentation on Mary Shelley again, you can find it here.

Here are links to a blurb and pages from chapter 1.
